SHORT BIO:

T. Davis is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter known for his original recipe of country, funk, southern soul and Americana: funk-try / soul-mericana. Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, the great-grandson of a tobacco farmer, grandson of a bassist, and son of a drummer, he's been steeped in the southern musical tradition since childhood. Two decades of performing professionally along the East Coast eventually led him to Nashville, where he's synthesized his signature fusion of soul, blues, country, and folk into a sound audiences have described as "Teddy Swims meets Chris Stapleton." His latest single, "Devil's Got Work To Do," released in July 2026. He's slated to make his debut at The Bluebird Cafe August 9th and open for Ashley McBryde September 12th.

LONG BIO:

T. Davis is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter known for his original recipe of southern soul, country, funk and Americana:

funk-try / soul-mericana

Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, the great-grandson of a tobacco farmer, grandson of a bassist, and son of a drummer, he's been immersed in the music, culture, Spirit, and groove of the southern tradition since childhood. Two decades of performing professionally along the East Coast eventually led him to Nashville with his wife Bri.

Along the way he's found inspiration in contemporaries who refuse to mold themselves to genre expectations: the evergreen records produced by Dave Cobb and the artists behind them, such as Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson, Brent Cobb, and Rival Sons. As he puts it, their lyrics and delivery are "raw, ripping the human condition down to the studs," carrying the same weight as Otis Redding's desperate phrasing, Bob Dylan's elegant poignance, and Hank Williams' terminal heartache, but presenting it all through a 21st-century lens, through which he too aspires to write.

Since moving to Nashville, he's synthesized his signature fusion of soul, blues, country, and folk into a sound that's uniquely his and essentially southern, one audiences have described as "Teddy Swims meets Chris Stapleton."

His catalog includes the albums On The One (2018) and Wanderlust & Happy Pills (2023), and the live record T. Davis & Company Live at the Paramount (2024). His latest single, "Devil's Got Work To Do," released in July 2026, with more singles on the way ahead of a new album. He has opened for Sister Hazel and Elvie Shane, opens for Ashley McBryde in September 2026, and makes his Bluebird Cafe debut this August.
